Are you a procrastinator? Once you finally get started, do you find that you’re easily distracted? Or do you find that once you get started, you have a hard time sticking with something until it’s completed? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then this mini course was designed for you. Maximizing Your Study Potential is designed for students to help them overcome barriers to getting their academic work done. There are three objectives to this mini-course. First, if you complete it, you will be able to explain the three barriers to success that many of us struggle with. Second, you will be able to see these barriers in yourself if there’s something that gets in your way. And finally, and most importantly, we will give you tips and tools that you can apply to overcome the barriers that may be getting in your way. We begin the course with an overview of the concept of action-state orientation, which are three tendencies that many people have that get in their way of achieving their academic goals and even goals beyond school. So we’ll start with a blog article that explains the concept, the three barriers and a little bit about how to overcome them. After that, we will have a series of videos that explain the different tips that we’ve provided to help you overcome your barriers depending on what those may be.
